After the 2015 earthquake we supported some villages with emergency-help & reconstruction-work. So did we in Valche Gaun, where our 2nd school for women was opened in March 2018, s. menue-item "School - The Saraswati-Project".

Our Board of Directors, Beate Ternberger & Reinhold Keller, visited our schools in Nepal in April 2023. They were also in Valche Gaun, where they were welcomed by the students of our Saraswati Women's School.
The two of them also visited the gompa, a Buddhist shrine, with our local liaison officer, Robin Chamlin. The temple was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake and has since been rebuilt, partly with our donations.
We also financed the renovation of the village's water pipeline in the weeks before the visit. The photo shows Buddha Ghale, who represents our interests in the village.
In January 2024, a long-cherished wish became reality: the Saraswati School has received sewing machines & will also be offering a sewing course from February. The sewing courses have been funded by the Georg Kraus Foundation (-> German link to info about foundation) for years, thank you very much.
The women assembled the sewing machines themselves and put them into operation.
